The Amani Nature Forest Reserve is established: (a) to protect the unique, biologically important submontane rain forest ecosystem of the East of Usambara mountains; (b) to maintain biodiversity, genetic resources, natural processes and cultural value in an undisturbed, dynamic and evolutionary state (rule 3). There shall be a Amani Nature Forest Reserve Advisory Board whose members shall be appointed by the Minister upon advice of the Chief Conservator who shall also appoint a Reserve Conservator (rules 4 and 5). The Minister shall adopt, upon advice of the Chief Conservator, a General Management Plan for the Reserve (rule 6). A plan for distinct zones shall be included in the Plan. Rule 7 provides for the establishment of a Amani Nature Forest Reserve Conservation Fund. Provisions of Part VI regulate the entry, residence and settlement in the Reserve.
