Abstract

This Order, made by the Minister of Forestry under section 4 of the Forest Resources and Timber Utilisation Act, exempts felling of trees and removal of timber and timber products from the islands to which this Order applies from the provisions of section 4 of the Act for the purposes of agricultural development of cocoa, coconut and other cash crops on those islands. Section 4 prohibits the felling of trees. Section 4 requires a licence to be obtained for commercial felling. Exempted land shall be used for agricultural purposes as certified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
