Abstract These Regulations amend the Food Safety and Standards (Import) Regulations, 2017 by adding Chapter XIV titled ‘Registration and inspection of Foreign Food manufacturing facilities’. This chapter contains Regulation No. 18, which requires registration of Foreign Food manufacturing facilities falling under categories of food products specified by the Food Authority and desirous of exporting to India. It further lays down the procedure for processing of applications, inspection, issuance of registration and suspension or cancellation of registration of Foreign Food manufacturing facilities.
