Abstract

These Regulations are made in exercise of the power conferred by clause (a) of sub-section 2 of section 92 read with sub-section (2) and (3) of section 9 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. They provide for the classification of posts, cadres and scales of pay of the employees of the Food Safety And Standards Authority Of India (Food Authority). They lay down the general conditions for appointment in the Food Authority and recruitment norms. The Regulations also contain provisions relating to deputation, appointment by promotion and contract appointments.
