It grants powers to the National Food Authority to regulate various matters relating to food quality and hygiene, assigns duties to the Authority as indicated in various EC Directives and duties of inspection, accreditation, control and enforcement to the Authority and other (local) public bodies and requires the Government to indicate EC legislation that shall complete provisions of the Food Act in Sweden.
