Abstract

The principal Order is made by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in consequence of the fact that in the opinion of the Minister the importation of pistachios originating from Iran may involve imminent risk of injury to health. The principal Order implements Commission Decision 97/613/EC. The principal Order is amended by the insertion at the end of article 2(1), prohibiting imports of pistachios, of the words "except in accordance with the conditions in Article 2 of Commission Decision 97/830/EC of 11th December 1997 repealing Commission Decision 97/613 and imposing special conditions on the import of pistachios originating in, or consigned from, Iran".
