It introduces prohibitions regarding the placing on the market of fortified foods and prescribe rules regarding labelling of such foods. Fortified foods are foods to which vitamins, mineral nutrients or amino acids have been added to for the purpose of preventing or correcting a demonstrated deficiency of one or more nutrients in the population groups. They also concern food for infants or special dietary uses.
