Abstract This law may be cited as the Food (Control and Sale) (Amendment) (Νο. 2) Law of 2000 and shall be read as one with the Food (Control and Sale) Laws of 1996 and 2000 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”). The principal Law and the present Law shall be read in conjunction and will be referred to as the Food (Control and Sale) Laws 1996-2000 (No. 2). With the present Law a new article 22A is added to the principal law regarding the labelling of foodstuffs containing genetically modified ingredients. The article prohibits advertising or placing in the market such foodstuffs unless it is specifically stated on the package certain conditions prescribed hereto.
