Abstract This Programme, based on the provisions of the Montenegrin Law on food safety, sets out measures aimed for monitoring the safety of food, items and materials that come into contact with food and feed based on the control of presence of residues of illicit substances, veterinary medicinal products, compliance with prescribed withdrawal period, other substances and environmental contaminants in live animals, their excretions, body fluids, tissues, products of animal origin, animal feed and feed water for animals, pesticide residues in food, microbiological criteria in food, contaminants in food, undesirable substances in feed, presence of genetically modified material, compliance with the composition and necessary food quality, food information.
