Abstract The present Act has been enacted to lay down amendments and addenda to Food Act 1983 in matter of protection of consumers against hazards and fraud in the preparation, sale and use of foodstuffs. Several new sections are added to Food Act 1983, mainly concerning the preparation and sale of food unfit for human consumption (new section 13A), adulterated food (new section 13B) and removal of food from premises (section 13C).
