It is stipulated that the owner, charterer and master of the local fishing vessel shall be resident in Malta in terms of the provisions of the Immovable Property (Acquisition by Non-Residents) Act. Furthermore, regulation 13 (establishing that fishing vessels over 24 metres in length registered after 1 January 2002 must comply with the Torremolinos Convention) is repealed.
