Abstract

Regulations to implement provisions of the Fishing Levy Act 1991 and the Fisheries Management Act 1991. The Regulations specify the amount of levy imposed on the grant of fishing permits or rights under the Fisheries Management Act. Each part specifies the amount of levy for a specific fishing right in the sense of regulation 4B of the Fisheries Management Regulations (e.g. Great Australian Bight Trawl Fishery; Jack Mackerel Fishery, Macqerie Island Fishery, Gillnet, Hook and Trap Fishery, other fisheries, etc.) and when such levy must be paid. Method of calculation of levies and dates of payment vary with each particular fishery.
