The application of these regulations shall come into force on the 1st of January, 2019.
Abstract

This Regulation prescribes terms and conditions for the followings: foreign purse seine fishing vessel and carriers that are licensed to fish and operate in the fishery waters (1); Tuvalu vessels, and chartered vessels, for the employment of qualified crew (2); working conditions for qualified crew on fishing vessels (3); and access of qualified crew to an efficient and well regulated fishing crew agencies (4). This Regulation applies on fishing vessels entitled to fly the Tuvalu Flag; foreign purse seine fishing vessels licensed to fish in Tuvalu waters; fishing crew agencies; and operators of fishing vessels. The Regulation designed in 7 Sections as follow and contains 19 Articles: Introduction (I); Requirement to employ qualified crew (2); Obligations of the operator (3); Fishing crew agency (4); Fishing vessel and fishing crew agency registry (5); Penalties (6); and Transitional provisions (7).
