Abstract This Proclamation concerns placing on the market in Eritrea and exportation of fishery products. "Fishery products" means all sea water or freshwater animals or parts thereof, including their roes, excluding aquatic mammals and turtles (art. 3). The Ministry of Fisheries shall be responsible for monitoring if requirements laid down by this Regulation are complied with. For this purposes the Ministry may appoint inspectors (arts. 4 and 5). The Minister may set up a Fishery Product advisory Council (art. 6). Article 7 sets out general conditions for the placing on the market of non-farmed fishery products. Article 10 concerns the control of quality. Control of quality shall follow the basic principles set out in that article. Article 11 concerns the approval of fish processing plants. Article 12 makes the same conditions applying to Eritrean products applicable to imported products. Article 13 concerns exportation and in particular health certificates accompanying exported products.
