Abstract

This Act regulates the creation of Fish Protection Areas and Fish Protection Area Associations. The areas may be created by two or more owners of adjacent properties for the purpose of coordination of fisheries management, protection of fish resources, and to promote fishing interests of the participants. The owners shall form an association for the management of the area. The creation of the area shall be communicated to the County Council of the County in which the area lies (sect. 4). Sections 6 and 7 set out conditions for the creation of an area. The association shall decide on what fishing activities are allowed in the area (sect. 8). Sections 10 to 17 set out procedures for the creation of a Fish Protection Area. The association shall be managed by a Council (sect. 20).
