Abstract

These Regulation amend the Fisheries (Protection of Turtles) (Amendments) Regulations 2004 in regulation 20A which introduces a moratorium on molesting, taking or killing of turtles. The moratorium is extended to 31 December 2018 and subregulation (1) is redefined so as to include use of turtles for research and negatively impacting on turtle habitats as prohibited activities.
