Abstract

The new Third Schedule to the Fisheries Principal Regulations of 1989 is divided into 4 Parts: Part A specifies Fishing Vessel Registration and Transfer Fees for Tanzanian and foreign vessels which shall be charged according to mode of ownership and the level of investment in terms of shore based fish processing facilities. Part B specifies Fishing Vessel Licence Fees which shall be charged to Tanzanian and foreign vessels according to the gross registered tonnage and the level of investment in terms of shore-based fish processing facilities. In Part C fees for collecting of fish, and fees for licences for the fishing of crustacean and ordinary finfish, are listed. These fees are charged according to the type and/or the gross tonnage of the vessel. Part D specifies fees for the certificate of ownership of certain types of fish or fish products.
