This Notice enters into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
Abstract

This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998. The notice declares Te Rae o Kohi Mātaitai Reserve, which is over a coastal strip between Wahieroa (near the Rangitaiki River) and the Maraetotara Stream (at Ohope). The tangata whenua of the area that includes the mātaitai reserve are represented by Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa. A mātaitai reserve is a traditional fishing ground for which Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are appointed under the regulations.
