Abstract This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998. The notice declares Te Rae o Kohi Mātaitai Reserve, which is over a coastal strip between Wahieroa (near the Rangitaiki River) and the Maraetotara Stream (at Ohope). The tangata whenua of the area that includes the mātaitai reserve are represented by Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa. A mātaitai reserve is a traditional fishing ground for which Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are appointed under the regulations.
