Abstract

These Regulations amend the Principal Regulations in order to provide for the protection of marine and freshwater turtles. Regulation 10 is repealed and replaced by a new Regulation prohibiting (a) the possession, fishing, sale, or purchase of the hickatee turtle in the period from 1st April to 31st October; (b) taking turtles found on land; (c) interference with turtle nests. Other provisions deal with turtle egg and fishing for and trade in specified species. (6 regulations)
