Abstract

This Act provides, in order to reach conformity of the principal Act with provisions of the Marine Zones (Declaration) Act 1983, that fishery limits shall be the same as the exclusive economic zone, or part of such zone as may be decided by the Minister. It also increases the limit of the territorial seas from 3 miles to 12 miles. Although the Marine Zones (Declaration) Act provides in this sense, for purposes of clarity and reference the Fisheries Ordinance is specifically amended in this regard.
