Abstract The Act sets regulations on the management of fisheries with the purposes of protection of living resources in marine- and fresh-water and for the protection of other marine animals and plants, to safeguard commercial fishing and related commercial activities. The Act also applies to fish farming and sale of fish and related activities. The EU Fisheries Committee engages in suggestions to the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fishery in regards to adherence to the EU regulations of fishery.
