Abstract The Ordinance contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed. Article 2 establishes that fish farmers must keep a register. Furthermore, the Ordinance establishes as follows: transport has to be carried out in special vehicles and containers; fish farmers must have all fish examined yearly by a veterinary; regular disinfection has to take place. Part 2 deals with measures in case of outbreak of fish disease. Once a disease is detected, all fish are to be destroyed under official supervision. The premises have to be disinfected and cleaned according to EU-guidelines. Part 3 contains measures to be taken in case of outbreak of fish disease in an unauthorized fish farm; Part 3a is devoted to the outbreak of mussel disease; Part 4 deals with the authorization of fish farms. Finally, Part 5 sets out penalties in case of violation of the said Ordinance. The text consists of 21 articles divided into 6 chapters and 1 Annex.
