Abstract This Law establishes legal status of state unitary enterprises and municipal unitary enterprises. Unitary enterprise is a commercial organization that has no right to property assigned to it by the owner. Only state and municipal enterprises can have the status of unitary enterprises. The property of a unitary enterprise can belong to the Russian Federation, to a subject of the Russian Federation or to a municipal unit. State or municipal enterprise can be set up for carrying out purchase or commodity interventions for ensuring food security of the state and functioning of water transport. The Federal Law consists of 6 Sections that contain 38 articles. Section 1 lays down the general provisions. Section 2 regards institution of unitary enterprise. Section 3 regards the property and statute fund. Section 4 regards management of unitary enterprise. Section 5 deals with reorganization and liquidation of unitary enterprises.
