Abstract

The present Regulation enacts the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Act. The Regulation lays down provisions relating to exploration, drilling and production. For the purpose of the present Regulation “development well” means a well that is drilled for the purpose of producing from or extending a pool of oil or gas into which another well has already been drilled. The text consists of 24 sections as follows: Definitions (1); Provincial standards (2);Well licences (3-6); Registration of works (7); Spacing requirements for oil and gas wells - General (8); Spacing requirements for oil and gas wells not subject to a spacing order (9-10); Spacing order (11-12); Spacing requirements for oil and gas wells subject to a spacing order (13); Pooling orders (14);Unitization orders (15);Security (16); Well control and blowout prevention (17); Water covered areas (18); Plugging dry or unused wells ( 19); Protection of designated gas storage area (20); Release of information( (21);Work tags (22); Examiners (23-24).
