Abstract

The present Regulation is made under the Mines and Minerals Act. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to royalties for experimental projects. For the purpose of the Regulation “experimental project” means a scheme that is the subject of a prior scheme approval or new scheme approval. Section 2 establishes that the royalty to be computed, levied and collected by the Crown in right of Alberta on experimental oil won, worked, recovered or obtained pursuant to an agreement granting petroleum rights is 5% of the experimental oil obtained from each well.
