Abstract

These Regulations give effect to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/166 laying down specific conditions applicable to the import of foodstuffs containing or consisting of betel leaves from India. 3. They concern the official control of consignments (an identifiable quantity of foodstuffs intended for human consumption referred to in Article 1(1) of, and Annex I to, Regulation (EU) 2016/166) of betel leaves from India. These Regulations shall be deemed to be food legislation for the purposes of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act 1998. The Regulations impose various obligations on importers.
