The accumulation of points for persistent serious infringements of the Common Fisheries Policy will lead to the suspension of a sea fishing boat licence or to the permanent withdrawal of a licence. The Sea Fisheries Protection Authority shall establish the system and be responsible for the assignment of points, whereas the Licensing Authority as defined by the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2003 shall be responsible for the recording of points assigned to the licence of an Irish registered fishing vessel.
