The 2005 Regulations are no longer required as the European Communities (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2011 now give effect to the provisions of European Parliament and Council Directive 2002/96/EC as amended by European Parliament and Council Directive 2003/108/EC and by Article 5 of Directive 2008/112/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council.
