Abstract

These Regulations implement Council Directive 97/78/EC of 18 December 1997 laying down the principles governing the organization of veterinary checks on fish or fishery products of fish, live bivalve molluscs, aquaculture animals and products, fishery products and waste of fish and fishery products entering the Community from third countries. They require the presentation of such products at an approved border inspection post for the purpose of official checking. They also provide for the appointment of authorised officers to implement the Regulations and for the prosecution of offences.
