Abstract

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Import of Personal Consignments of Products of Animal Origin) Regulations 2012 so as to give effect to Commission Regulation (EC) No. 206/2009, in relation to destruction or disposal of animal products. They introduce a new regulation that empowers an authorised officer to destroy or dispose of the animal product that is seized and detained by him or her in exercise of the powers conferred on him or her by section 38 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013.
