Abstract

These Regulations: prohibit the importation, manufacture and sale of expanded polysterene products in Guyana and, subject to exceptions, the use of expanded polysterene containers for food; promote the use of biodegradable, recyclable and environmentally-friendly containers in Guyana. The Regulations shall apply to "food serve establishments", i.e. any premises where food is directly to the consumers including shops and restaurants. The Minister may, in the public interest authorize importation, manufacture and sale of expanded polysterene products subject to such terms and conditions as the Minister may impose.
