Abstract

These Regulations amend the Environmental Protection (Controls on Ozone-Depleting Substances) Regulations 2002 so as to, among other things: (a) extended the principal Regulations to offshore installations in the marine area (as defined in these Regulations); (b) modify and add to the list of definitions; (c) provide that the Secretary of State is the competent authority in respect of offshore installations; (d) confer powers on the Secretary of State to require the disposal of substances, products and equipment subject of illegal trade; and (e) make new provisions about fumigation for quarantine or pre-shipment using methyl bromide.
