Abstract

These Regulations provide for standards and tests for vehicle exhaust and noise emission. The Director may require the owner of any licensed motor vehicle to submit the vehicle for a re-examination for the purpose of determining whether the vehicle still conforms to the applicable prescribed standards. The examiner shall issue a certificate of compliance to the owner of the motor vehicle re-examined. If a certificate of compliance has been denied the owner of the vehicle may appeal to the Director. The decision of the specially appointed approved vehicle examiner on a re-examination under this regulation shall be final. The Director may issue a rectification notice to the owner of the licensed motor vehicle concerned (reg. 15). No person shall use or cause or permit to be used on any road any motor vehicle from which any smoke or visible vapour is emitted and which does not conform to the standards for noise emission.
