It consists of eight chapters: General provisions (I); Environmental Decision (II); Strategic EIA (III); Public participation in environmental decision-making contemplated under the Code (IV); Assessment of transboundary environmental impact (V); Expert commission (VI); Supervision and responsibilities in the field of EIAs (VII); and Transitional and final provisions (VIII). The main purposes of the Code include regulating the relations in the cases where EIAs are required, and protecting the environment and public health.
