Abstract

These Regulations, made under the Environment Protection Act 2002, introduce a tool for raising awareness on fuel economy. A label for consumption of fuel shall be attached by sellers to newly-sold cars. These labels will help consumers compare the efficiency of different cars and guide them in making the most environment-friendly choice. Through their choices, consumers are also contributing to reduce emissions from the motor car, thereby reducing the emission of greenhouse gases responsible for global warming. Every label shall be in the form set out in the Schedule.
