Abstract This Act amends the Antarctic Treaty (Environment Protection) Act 1980 in respect of the protection of Antarctic seals and other fauna. The amendments concern definitions and authorization of activities regarding protected fauna and flora. One provision concerns precautions to prevent the introduction of microorganisms not present in the Antarctic. This Act also defines anew offences, both in the 1980 Act and in the Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards Act 2005.
