Abstract

This Act amends several definitions in the Section 2 of the principal Act. Furthermore, this Act makes amendments in Section 3 on the objectives of the principal Act; Section 5 on the administration of the Act; Section 6 on the functions of the Minister; Part Ill on obligations in terms of pollution, environmentally-significant activities and conservation; Part IV on environment licenses; Part V on protected species and areas; Part VI on enforcement powers of environment inspectors; and Part VII on miscellaneous provisions. Section 9 on the power of the Beretitenti to give directions to public authorities and Section 7 on the further functions of the Minister are repealed. This Act inserts section 4A on the extent of Act and section 4B on the requirements of decision making.
