Abstract

This Act amends the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. Amendments establish new legal and administrative proceedings specifying matters such as: notification requirements on manufacture or sale or purchase or-import of equipment or appliance be issued within a specific period; that the Central Government may, having regard to the market share and the technological development having impact on equipment or appliance; appellate tribunal shall hear appeals against the orders of the adjudicating officer or the Central Government or the State Government or any other authority under this Act; qualifications, criteria and conditions subject to which a person may be accredited as an energy auditor, etc.
