Abstract This Regulation is made under the Mines and Minerals Act to encourage industry to open up new oil and gas resources in higher-risk and higher-cost areas that have large resource potential in order to generate greater royalties and other benefits to Albertans. The Regulation reduces Crown royalty due on hydrocarbons obtained from eligible wells in a project approved by the Minister on or after January 1, 2017 and on or before December 31, 2039.
