It places restrictions on use of advertisement materials and the content of advertisements. "Drug" includes any substances of vegetable, animal or mineral origin or any preparation or admixture thereof manufactured, sold or advertised for use in: i) the diagnosis, treatment, mitigation, in man or animal; ii) restoring, correcting or modifying organic function in man and animal; iii) disinfections or the control of vermin, insects or pest; contraception. The advertisement of any drug or drug product shall be accurate, complete, clear and designed to promote credibility and trust by the general public and health care practitioners. Advertisement material by the National Agency for Food and Drug product Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and there shall be internal control on advertisement materials.
