Abstract

This Order, made under the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956, provides rules for the handling of animals (especially livestock animals) in transit in Jersey. The Order shall apply to all mammals and other vertebrate and cold-blooded animals. The Order contains provisions on the protection of animals in transport, and requires an authorization to be obtained from the competent authority in the country of origin for the transportation of vertebrate animals by sea or by air. For the transport of certain animals an approved route plan is required.
