Abstract

This Order amends the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 in Part II of Schedule 2 by substituting the definition of “herd” (of bovine animals). Part II concerns compensation for slaughter of animals and poultry. Where the animals slaughtered as a result of being exposed to the infection of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy represent more than ten percent of a herd, enhanced compensation is payable.
