Abstract

This Order provides for measures additional to those introduced by the Diseases of Animals (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) Order, 1989 to detect and control bovine spongiform encephalopathy in bovine animals. It provides for control on the movement of bovine animals into or out of holdings on which cases of the disease occurred. It also lays down the mode of assessment of compensation for animals slaughtered and makes technical amendments to the Diseases of Animals (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) Order, 1989.
