Abstract This Directive of the Director of Fisheries prescribes catch quotas for minke whales in 2003. The quota for vessels that have the right to participate in catch of quotas shall be for the Barents Sea and Svalbard 57 whales distributed according to the size of vessel (including West Fjord). The quota for vessels that have the right to participate in catch of quotas shall be for the North Sea be of a total of 125 whales, distributed according to the size of vessel. The catch quota in Jan Mayen shall be 37. Vessels shall report to the Norwegian Fish Trading Company. Infringements of provisions of this Directive shall be punished in accordance with section 53 of the Sea-water Fisheries Act.
