Abstract This Directive of the Director of Fisheries applies to fishing by Norwegians and foreigners with cod trawlers using 135 mm mesh size nets. It applies to fishing in specified areas (sect. 1) of the Norwegian economic zone and the Fish Protection Zone of Svalbard. It lays down rules for the construction, installation and use of sorting grids on trawling vessels, and requires vessles to use prescribed sorting grids in the areas specified.
