Abstract

These Regulations provide for the protection of human health and the environment in relation with carrying out deliberate release (defined in regulation 2) into the environment of genetically modified organisms for any purposes other than placing on the market with Malta and in relation with placing on the market of genetically modified organisms as products or in products. Genetically modified organisms may be deliberately released or placed on the market only in conformity with rules contained in Part B or Part C of these Regulations. The Regulations provide for assessment, notification and authorization procedures.
