Abstract

This Decree of the Ministry of Environment regulates the lowering into the water of gear. Gear with a mesh size of 35 mm and larger used for marine fisheries shall in the period of 1 May until 30 September be installed in such way that the main parts are at least 3 meters under the level of the water in any tide. This requirement can be extended to gear of any mesh size by the County Chief. The requirement shall not apply to commercial fishing for other fish than anadromous salmon by fishermen included in the Fishermen's Census and set out from vessels registered in the Marks Register.
