Abstract This Decree, based on the provisions of the Slovenian Waters Act, here adopts: Water Management Plan for the Danube River Basin District for the period 2016-2021 (Annex 1); Water Management Plan for the Adriatic Sea Area for the period 2016–2021 (Annex 2). This text further prescribes certain issues regarding surface and groundwater bodies for which deadlines for achieving specific objectives are extended; monitoring; sections of watercourses and lakes relevant for determining the reference conditions; conditions and limitations of interventions. These plans shall be considered as environmental starting points relating to waters, also in accordance with the Law governing environmental protection.
