Abstract The present Decree of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of 17 articles, lays down the rules of carrying out construction work, requirements for constructions and organizational measures with the aim of preventing and reducing emissions which are generated as the result of these activities. In particular, this Decree regulates: requirements for engines installed in construction machinery or other devices (art. 4), requirements for compression-ignition engines (art. 5), requirements for the mechanical processing (art. 6). These provisions do not apply to the construction of facilities that are required to fight against the natural and human caused disasters, or in order to prevent or minimize their consequences for the protection, rescue and relief in natural and other disasters, and to build military engineering facilities, shelters and other facilities during emergency or the state of war.
