Abstract The purpose of this Decree of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia is to protect human health and environmental quality by reducing emissions of sulfur dioxide and other pollutants resulting from the combustion of certain types of fuel. The present Decree lays down: (1) technical specifications for liquid fuels intended for engines with positive-ignition and compression-ignition to be used for vehicles and non-road mobile machinery, vessels for inland waterways when not at sea, agricultural and forestry tractors, recreational vessels when not at sea and any vessels in the territorial sea of the Republic of Slovenia; (2) sulfur content of fuels intended for vessels using the flag of the Republic of Slovenia related in the region of the emission control of sulfur oxides under the jurisdiction and control of another country; (3) sulfur content of fuels used at combustion plants. The Decree is composed of 28 articles divided into the following Sections: General provisions (Sec. 1); Physico-chemical properties of fuels (Sec. 2); Obligations of the supplier and distributor (Sec. 3); Issuing permission for exception (Sec. 4); Inspection (Sec. 5); Penalty provisions (Sec. 6); Transitional and final proivisions (Sec. 7).
